the PK-1475 landed
a beach off the coast of Vietnam. The alarm was sounded as people
shuffled aboard. There was no turning back. Survival reigned and
their fate began to unfold.
The small panicked fishing boat reeled back out
to sea. It had to flee with whatever contents it gained on board:
meager resources and thirty-two passengers out of the anticipated
forty-two. They were all family.
The plan to pick up food, water and fuel was thwarted.
Chaos had separated husbands from their wives, sisters from brothers,
and parents from children. They barely escaped.
Their journeys was just beginning.
